Adriana Hvar Spa Hotel

Fabulous setting right on the harbour. I would definitely recommend getting a sea view room. Ours was on the first floor and when we lay in bed with the window open it was almost like being on a ship, looking out on the little fishing boats, with the sound of the water slapping gently and the sun glittering on the sea. The room itself was very comfortable - although what is it with hotel designers and doorless glass bathrooms? However, here at least the toilet had a separate wooden door. Elsewhere, the hotel was bright and everywhere the wonderful view of the harbour. We especially liked the roof terrace bar. The staff were extremely helpful too: there was no kettle in the room when we arrived, but we just had to ask and one was sent up with a couple of mugs. Ditto with swimming towels - there are towels on the sunbeds on the roof where there is also a covered (but quite chilly!) pool but if you get a chance, swim in the sea. I found a place on the far side of the harbour where there are steps in to the water and it was glorious.

The hotel was wonderful. The staff is very courteous, and friendly. The rooms are comfortable, and the restaurant very good. Hvar surpassed all expectations. The Adriana was no exception. The concierge service is outstanding. They helped me rent a bike, scooter, and boat. Very difficult to procure otherwise. The hotel is centrally located, but to one side so away from pedestrian traffic. Quiet enough to sleep with the windows open, enjoying the sea breeze. I am definitely visiting again!

My family and I had the best time at beautiful Adrianna Hotel in Hvar. The staff however are the stars at this hotel…starting with the concierge Mateja. She was so wonderful organising activities and restaurants for us,even before we arrived she would always email me back and answer all my questions I had. Mateja greeted us when we arrived with glasses of champagne which was wonderful,She was the best!Tmislav Bulcya at the front luggage attendant was brilliant. He even went to get our ferry tickets for us so we could relax and have breakfast before we went back to Split!.Then took our luggage for us to the ferry! Just a wonderful kind man.Also Alexander at the front desk was so helpful too. All in all..this hotel is a must if you are going to Hvar Croatia

The Adriana Hvar Spa Hotel is in a perfect location on the "riva" (waterfront) in the town of Hvar. It is a very short stroll from the town square which we preferred as it was more quiet and not as busy. The ferry arrives on the other side of the harbor but the hotel graciously has someone there to collect your luggage and transport it to the hotel (and back to the ferry when you depart). The rooms are small (although efficient) but the view makes up for it. The breakfast was outstanding and delicious with many choices from both the menu and buffet. Eating outside on the patio with the turquoise water of the sea just feet away is a memory I will always keep. If I had one small suggestion, it would be that they add a privacy curtain for the bathroom. The toilet has a door but the shower and sink are open. Just a personal preference.

The Adriana was our fourth hotel during our trip along the Dalmatian coast and it was by far our favourite. Getting off the ferry, we didn't see and weren't expecting the free luggage transport from the hotel so we walked the 5 minutes to the hotel with our bags. We'll know for next time, because although it's a very short walk it is nicer to do it without luggage. When we checked in we were given a complimentary glass of prosecco which was a nice touch. Our room was just gorgeous. Very clean, spacious bedroom area and bathroom. It wasn't right at the front, but on the side, so we had a small view of the harbour from a shared terrace. There was water in the room, a welcome honey biscuit and small selection of snacks (which cost extra), and a fridge minibar. The air conditioning was efficient and quiet. I appreciated there being a decent hairdryer that wasn't in the bathroom (it's unpleasant trying to dry long hair in a humid bathroom with those hairdryers which have little power!) There was a wide selection of things for breakfast - hot food, cold meats and cheese, cereals, fruit, fresh bread and pastries, juices and smoothies. It was lovely to eat breakfast right on the harbour. We had dinner in the hotel on our second (and last) night. Again, just fantastic. The service was excellent - friendly and helpful without ever being overbearing or intrusive. There was complimentary prosecco to start, with bread & tomato. My husband had the tuna steak, which he thoroughly enjoyed, and I had steak & scallops - both cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. We shared a side of truffle chips, which were flavoured with actual truffle shavings not just truffle oil as so much is nowadays. The chocolate marquise dessert was decadent but just the right size portion. The rooftop bar offers lovely views across the harbour both during the day and in the evening. Reservations can be made for the tables right at the front, but we didn't bother with that and just took our chances. You still get a decent view from the other tables. The swimming pool was also beautiful and felt well-maintained. There are both indoor and outdoor sun loungers, also with plenty of shady areas. It never felt crowded, so there felt like lots of choice for which spot to take to relax in. And the bar is nearby, so easy to get drinks while you relax. We didn't use the sauna or spa, so I can't comment on those. On check out, we did make use of the luggage transport. Our luggage was taken to the ferry port and a space saved for us at the front of the very long queue. We then wandered the 5 minutes around the harbour just before our ferry was due in. I have to admit feeling slightly guilty about walking past the huge queue of people to take up our place at the front, but not guilty enough to go all the way to the back! We had a genuinely lovely stay; if we return to Hvar, we would definitely return to this hotel.

This is a beautiful hotel and there is much to love. The excellent staff, the restaurant, breakfast, views etc. However…. We were travelling as two 60+’ friends meeting from UK and New Zealand. A special and much anticipated reunion. A superior room with twin beds had been booked for months and confirmed several times in writing. Full payment taken in advance. On arrival no twin rooms were available. A hugely disappointing start. Also the superior room is the most basic. Misleading to use this terminology. The room was small and the bathroom arrangement is odd and doesn’t work well. The shower spills water into the room. No coffee making and no daily water provided. We were moved after two nights in a double bed to a small twin room. The manager was apologetic and provided a complimentary dinner ( no alcohol) and a 30 minute spa treatment.

Love the hotel. Great location, beautifully furnished and lovely atmosphere. Friendly staff. Family of 3 stayed in a suite with terrace. Had lunch on 4th floor and dinner on the terrace, great food! The view is breathtaking. Easy access from the port.

Wonderful hotel, staff, customer service, & location. View from top floor Top Bar and from sea facing rooms is incredible of harbor, fortress, sea, castle, and town. Amazingly professional staff; very helpful and friendly. There is not a lot of turnover, so most staff are there year to year and are invested in ensuring guests are happy. Customer service is excellent. The staff will pick you and luggage up at the ferry dock across from the marina in little golf cart trucks (it is a five minute walk from the ferry across the square to the hotel) and the staff will check you in with a glass of champagne. AC works very well. Hotel and rooms are impeccably clean. Rooms with balconies overlooking the harbor face east and have amazing views. They will bring you luggage racks if you request them, which to me is very essential to have. Coffee service setup takes up a lot of space on top of a short piece of furniture that houses a small refrigerator in a drawer and two shelves in a cabinet, one with a safe. The frig is a drawer in which minibar beverages are standing up; they clink a lot when you open and close the drawer. You can take the beverages out and put them on top of the counter and use the frig for your own; just tell the front desk and they will make a note. If you ask, they will disconnect and remove the entire coffee service setup, which I did to be able to use the counter spacer. The shower water pressure is excellent; linens and towels are good quality. The glass sliding door to the toilet nook is extremely heavy and tends to get stuck on the tile if you push it too far in. Evening turndown service offers fresh towels, trash pickup, bottled water, etc. The restaurant has the best setting anywhere on the terrace overlooking the water. This is our favorite setting for breakfast in the world – the sparkling water, the sunny skies, the shade under the awning, friendly service, and an excellent breakfast buffet with a wide variety of fresh & healthy (wonderful cut fruit and vegetables, yogurts, juices) and high quality everything else (fresh breads, cooked dishes, meats, fish, and cheese, desserts, and cereals) as well as make to order egg dishes. The omelettes are very good. It is also the best dinner setting in town – high end, very professional table service; tables right by the waterfront with unobstructed views of harbor, water, town, and fortress. Other good restaurants are either on water but views are blocked by boats or in the little old town streets without any views. Spa is a lovely oasis with very professional staff with a menu of services. Small but well equipped gym with good AC. Easy access to everything, including the lovely shaded walking path to the right all the way to the end.
